Marketing From My Scooter & Flip Flops

I'm sure you really don't give a rat's ass (Never understand that one. Who gives rat's asses anyway?) what some marketing guy is doing on an island in the middle of nowhere? No one I suppose but it serves a purpose for me. I get to keep a journal and possibly it will give insight to what I actually do all day. People still don't really get it.

I left the States over 4 years ago to pursue new opportunities. Most recently I've been in Asia. I can say this, It's never boring. Around here, something simple like meeting a client or getting gas can turn into a life changing event. I guess that's part of it. You're always active physically and mentally. Just last week I was scheduled to meet a client to discuss a hotel project. I took a look outside to check the weather conditions. It was clear. So I hopped on my scooter and off I went...

Five minutes into the trip I was in a torrential downpour. I had three options; find a place to wait it out, turn back or continue. I turned it into another adventure. Who doesn't like splashing through puddles? And when you're in shorts it's not really that big a deal. Thankfully my computer and smartphone were safe. One thing about living in the tropics, you learn to pack things and prepare for all kinds of possibilities. I don't have any complaints about the daily challenges with the exception of these damn mosquitos right now.

In fact, I recommend it to everyone. It gives life new perspective. And when you spend most of your time being creative it can be quite therapeutic.. Right now, I'm sitting at my desk in Bali looking out at my pool. It's 11;51 pm and I"ve been working pretty much nonstop all day. I'm just about read for a cup of tea and a movie.

Earlier I was feeling a little lazy from the afternoon sun so I hopped on my scooter and went to my local warung (small shop) and put the lime in de coconut. Well that's all for now. I will check in with you from time to time. I hope you don't mind.
